There was lots of action on the Kodiaks court in both volleyball and basketball these past couple of weeks as well a national championship appearance for the cross-country team.
The cross-country team had a remarkable season coming out on top in all regular season Grad Prix series. All members represented Lethbridge College, as they travelled to Toronto for Nationals hosted by Humber College.
Showing great promise is Edwin Katainy. Katainey finished third in Toronto and also received bronze as part of Team Alberta along with fellow teammate Alex Harding. Both received all tournament honors as well as Mikaela York. York won a gold as part of Team Alberta.
Although cross-country has wrapped up, the volleyball and basketball teams are still in full swing as they play their last couple of games before semester break.
Despite the sudden end to the Kodiaks men’s volleyball team this season the women are continuing full force with their season. Red Deer College visited the Kodiaks during the Remembrance Day long weekend as the ladies took the first game with a 22-15 win.
Despite the momentum from the win, Red Deer took the next three games. Continuing onto Nov. 9th the ladies failed to push back and walked away with three straight losses.
Moving onto greater things, the ladies visited Augustana the weekend of the 15th, winning both games. On Friday, the ladies won 3-1 and on Saturday won 3-0.
With this past weekend, the Kodiaks wrap up the first part of the season until January 10th when the ladies volleyball and both basketball teams get back into the swing of things.
