Energy is up around campus as students at Lethbridge College are feeling excited about the upcoming school year.

Talking with students from various programs, some feel that although this year is full of challenges, they are looking forward to the opportunities that come with starting a new semester.

Caylee Vogel, a Business Administration student, is going into her final year of the program and feels that the college offers her what she needs to be successful after graduation.

“I’m excited about my classes because it’s really tailored to what I want to do in the future, so I’m happy to be here,” said Vogel.

The Lethbridge College Students’ Association is doing its part with social events to help students get familiar with the campus and to feel part of the culture of post secondary education.

Tanner Mercer, Events and Communications Coordinator, has helped put together events during Frosh week and is excited for everything they are offering students such as Frosh Hypnotise,  which took place Sept. 14 plus the Neon Lights Party that was held the following night.

At the Frosh Hypnotise event, everybody got to sit down, enjoy watching their friends get hypnotized. The Neon Lights Party offered a chance for people to get to know one another.

“It’s a great a time,” said Mercer.

Jordan Sauer, Criminal Justice student, is also entering his final year at the college and couldn’t be happier to get things started. He has moved into residence and is looking forward to taking advantage of the social aspect of being in college.

“Last year I was living off campus so I didn’t really get into any of the activities or anything, I’ll get more into it this year,” said Sauer.

College can also be very hectic, so its important to stay focused and be ready for the upcoming challenges that you may face along the way.

Along with being a student at the college, Vogel works as a personal trainer and is part of the college’s cross-country team. She believes that every student at Lethbridge College can succeed as long as they are committed to putting in the work.

“I like to excel in the things I do and sometimes it requires 110 per cent effort,” said Vogel.
