Street Feet

A local organization is helping the homeless from the ground up, Sarah Redekop has the story.

Local organization, Streets Alive, has been helping the homeless care for their feet. Each Friday volunteers come in and repair what they call “Street Feet.” Organizers say homeless people are prone to health issues related to foot problems. This is why medical personnel donate their time to clip toenails, repair foot problems and provide clean socks. Volunteer, Dr. Earle Covert, says untreated foot problems can lead to more serious health issues. The program, called Foot Fridays, runs from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. once a week.
