If you’re a fan of amateur boxing, the Lethbridge Lodge is the place to be early November.
Boxers enter the Sub-Novice Boxing tournament looking for their first KO’s of their boxing careers. The Lethbridge Lodge will be hosting the tournament Nov. 8 and 9.
“Sub-novice means that the fighters have had two fights or less,” said Rick Duff, promoter for the event.
The event features boxers from Alberta, B.C. and Saskatchewan, including a few that are enrolled in the Lethbridge College.
This event has six boxers that have never boxed before and four that have fought once. In total there are 10 boxers that will have matches at this event.
Duff said his boxers usually join for fitness training to start, and then after training they fall in love with the sport and want to actually get in the ring.
The fights will be held from 1- 2 p.m. on both Nov. 8 and Nov. 9.

Their hours are 7-9 p.m. Monday to Friday.
