Tasty treats fund student showcase

Lethbridge College students flocked to Centre Core to purchase an assortment of yummy baked goods this morning. The bake sale not only provided treats to students, but also put money towards the 2015 Collide-O-Scope Annual Student Design Showcase.

Collide-O-Scope, which will take place April 11, 2015 in the Garden Court Restaurant at Lethbridge College, is a showcase of the School of Media and Design’s four programs: Fashion Design and Sustainable Production, Interior Design Technology, Digital Communications and Media and Multimedia Production. Students will present and showcase their best work from the year.

The bake sell was necessary as organizers are working to raise more money for Collide-O-Scope so that ticket prices can be lower.

Fashion Design and Sustainable Production instructional assistant Erin Hall says these fundraisers, including today’s bake sale, will help lower the entry cost so all Media and Design students and their families will be able to attend at a lower cost. Hall says that all money made from both fundraisers and ticket sales will assist the School of Media and Design students.

“All proceeds from Collide-O-Scope will go towards student awards, so it will directly benefit our School of Media and Design students.”

There will be a variety of Collide-O-Scope fundraisers throughout the school year that students and staff can support.
