Team Kleibrink wins provincials Scheidegger rink from Lethbridge loses out in the final event

The Alberta Scotties Tournament of Hearts kicked off Jan. 26 with 12 teams competing for a chance to be in the Scotties Tournament of Hearts in Charlottetown Feb. 19 to 27.

Lethbridge resident Casey Scheidegger of the Lethbridge Curling Club competed this past week. Her team members consisted of Alli Nimik, Jody Keim, Lace Dupont and their coach Don Scheidegger.

Scheidegger’s team made it through the A, B and C events, but it wasn’t enough to make it into the final event.

The final teams who competed in the last round were Shannon Kleibrink and Cheryl Bernard from Calgary, and from Edmonton Dana Ferguson and Heather Wedohin.

Shannon Kleibrink’s team managed to curl the rocks just enough to win the championship event.

Kleibrinks team will be representing Alberta in the tournament in Charlottetown.
