The BMO 2012 CCAA Women’s National Basketball Championship is coming and with it, eight of the best teams from across the country.
Coming into the championship as the first seed is the Grant MacEwan Griffins. They played a perfect ACAC season with 24 wins and no losses totalling 40 points.
RSEQ champions, the Dawson College Blues of Montreal, enter in second place with a regular season record of 18-2 and a total of 36 points.
The University of Northern B.C. Timberwolves from Prince George are the PACWEST champions. Coming in third, they enter the finals with 30 points and a 15-1 record.
Winning silver in the RSEQ division, the Dynamiques Sainte-Foy, from Quebec, enter the championship fourth with a total of 34 points and a record of 17 wins and three losses.
The St. Thomas University Tommies from Fredericton, N.B. are the ACAA champions with a regular season record of 21-0 and a total of 42 points. They join the championship as the fifth-ranked team.
Ontario team and OCAA champions, the Algonquin College Thunder, enter the competition in sixth place with a 15-1 record in the standings and a total of 30 points.
With 15 wins and five losses, seventh place goes to the tournament hosts, the Lethbridge College Kodiaks.
OCAA silver winners, the Seneca College Sting from Toronto, are in eighth place with a total of 30 points and a 15-1 record.
