College can be an exciting adventure but it can also be an emotional time. Many of you are away from home for the first time, juggling your coursework and making new friends. One of the best ways to combat stress and loneliness is to get involved in the activities around campus.

The Lethbridge College Students Association (LCSA) hosts many fun events throughout the year. You can look forward to poker nights, karaoke, speed dating, brown bag sexy bingo, Movember cowboy cabaret and much more.

Open Mic in the Cave happens every second and fourth Thursday from 8 p.m. to midnight. If you are a musician, a rapper, or just like to tell jokes in front of a live audience, here is your opportunity to showcase your talent on stage.

The Cave is located just off Centre Core and is the place to relax and stretch out on the couches. There is a large screen TV, ping-pong and pool tables, and foosball.

Intramural sports such as ice hockey, floor hockey, arena flag football and co-ed volleyball are a great way to stay in shape and buddy up with your team. Or if you prefer to sit in the bleachers, the Kodiaks soccer, volleyball and basketball teams know how to get in the action. As a bonus, Lethbridge College students receive free admission to attend our Kodiaks’ home games.

Discount student passes for the Lethbridge Hurricanes games are available at the LCSA for $12. Enjoy an entertaining night of hockey and cheer on the home team.

The Buchanan Library is an invaluable resource for every student. If you ever need to know anything, the dedicated library professionals either know the answer or will steer you in the right direction. The library has a fresh new look in The Learning Commons. Through a major fund-raising campaign, future renovations are planned to transform the library into the place to be for the best in technology and the ultimate learning experience.

Another planned renovation for the college is a new Trades and Technology building, to position our school as the institution of choice for trades training, with the newest equipment, modern technology and an increased student capacity across eight trades and four technology programs.

Regardless of the program you study or what activities you engage in make sure you create friendships and memories that will last your lifetime. With incredible instructors and strong student leadership, you can be assured that you’re in good hands.

Once you enter through the doors of Lethbridge College the experience will change your life.We “Endeavour” to make it your best year ever.
