The wheels on the bus may come to town

Lethbridge may be seeing a new means of transportation within the year.

Red Arrow Motorcoach is planning to expand its daily service to Lethbridge.

Before anything can happen, Red Arrow needs to get approval from the province and describe how Lethbridge needs this type of transportation.

The motor coach will come with onboard wireless internet, laptop plug-ins and leather seats, accessories not available on other local buses.

John Stepovy, general manager of Red Arrow, says he is excited about this opportunity.

He says the company is in the data gathering stage. It needs and values the input of anyone who travels between Lethbridge and Calgary and thinks that they would use Red Arrow.

Red Arrow launched a website in order to get input from the Lethbridge community. It’s hoping to get more than 1,000 surveys completed to determine demand for the transportation.

Red Arrow is coming to Lethbridge  Feb. 3-10 for presentations about the motor coach and to gather input from the community.

Motorcoach has been offering transportation to and from Calgary, Edmonton, Red Deer and Fort McMurray since 1978.

Red Arrow says it has earned a reputation as one of Alberta’s best choices of transportation.
