Town of Taber enters NHL contest for Kraft Hockeyville

The town of Taber has thrown its name into the hat for the National Hockey League’s Kraft Hockeyville contest.

Kraft Hockeyville is a community-based contest from the NHL that chooses a small community within each province and territory.

Once a finalist from each has been selected, there is a final contest where the winning community receives an NHL pre-season game and $250,000 to upgrade their facility, whether that be the infrastructure, floors or most likely, the dressing rooms.

Taber Minor Hockey treasurer Steve Stronge says the opportunity to host an NHL game would be a huge attraction for the young athletes in the community.

Taber has so far drawn 109 entries.
