Unwanted campus guest causes unnecessary issues

A 20-year-old male has been charged after a weapon was drawn at Lethbridge College residence.

The altercation took place between two males, ages 18 and 20, on Tuesday Sept. 27. Police say both males knew each other and were involved in a previous dispute.

The only weapon seized from the property was a BB gun that looked like a handgun. The weapon was waved in the 18-year-old’s face.

Kim Sullivan, residence life manager at the college, says that many problems occur with guests on campus, even if they haven’t been invited.

“You are responsible for your actions as well as your guests.”

The male accused has been charged with assault with a weapon and possession of a weapon dangerous to public peace.

He was released from custody on conditions that prohibit him from attending the college and having contact with the victim. He is scheduled to appear in court in early November.
