World Women’s Curling draw 12 results

Thanks to a win in draw 12 of the Ford World Women’s Curling Championship, Team Canada now boasts a 6-2 record for the tournament.

In their matchup against Team Korea, Canada was able to pull off some impressive plays, winning 7-5.

In the first four ends, both Canada and Korea played a cautious, strategic game. Canada was able to take the lead in the second, but Korea came back with an impressive double-takeout and three points in the third end.

After some back-and-forth scoring, the teams were tied 4-4 going into the sixth end.

A well-played eighth allowed Korea to close the small gap, going into the ninth end with a score of 6-5 in Canada’s favour. However, in the ninth end Canada regained their two-point lead.

In the tenth, Canada made some good placements early on and Korea was not able to catch up.

Heather Nedohin threw the final rock for Team Canada, skillfully taking out Korea’s only rock in the house and ending the game, knocking Korea out of their first place standing.

While both teams have six wins and two losses, Canada is now in second behind Team Sweden, with Korea in third.

An even matchup between Team Italy and Team Switzerland had the teams tied at 4-4 going into the eighth end. Switzerland was able to pull ahead and won 8-4.

With no team scoring more than a single point per end, Team USA and the Team Czech Republic tied 3-3 going into the eighth. USA played well in the last two ends and won 6-4.

Team Sweden started out strong with five points in the first end against Team China. Although China managed to close the gap with two points in each the fourth and fifth end, they weren’t able to pull ahead and Sweden won 7-5.
