A world’s first for the college

An event to showcase my multiple perspectives of reality is coming to Lethbridge with a variety of virtual and augmented reality presenters.

From the creators at Google, to the small business creators, there will be the insights of the entire industry revolving around virtual reality and augmented reality.

Alex Jackson, chapter President of VR/AR Association will be speaking at the event to show the way his company has been capturing and manipulating reality into a virtual world.

Jackson is also a part of the company Hone VR which creates augmented emergency training sessions for all medical responders. These videos help people entering the medical field work hands on with difficult situations without risking lives while using state-of-the-art equipment.

“We create training simulations to help people in and coming into the field deal with difficult situations mentally and physically before they enter the work force,” said Jackson.

The training videos not only give the participant training. but also confidence when entering the real situation for the first time.

Jackson saw the strong potential of integrating virtual reality with the medical field from being a first responder as a paramedic.

The Merging Realities event will take place at the Lethbridge College on April 26, 2018 from 8:30 a.m. – 6 p.m. Click here for more information: lethbridgecollege.ca/mr
