NDP election party on the solemn side

A solemn scene at the Lethbridge NDP election party as Conservative candidate Rachel Harder pulls ahead in the early ballot count with more 55 per cent of the votes counted so far.  The Conservative party have a commanding hold on the province with more than 93 per cent of the votes counted so far going blue, including the riding of Stephen Harper in Calgary Heritage according to Global Calgary.

Nationally, it’s a different scene with several news organizations calling a majority Liberal government with the red wave taking a large portion of the Maritime seats early on in the evening. CBC News called a majority Liberal government at around 8:30 MST with 178 of the seats going to the party in red.

With a few more hours still left to count every last vote across the nation, it’s a fairly safe bet that we will awake to red government with Justin Trudeau at the helm tomorrow morning.
