Rachael Harder arrived just around 9:30 p.m. last night at Paradise Canyon’s Clubhouse as a very eager crowd rose to their feet and welcomed the new federal representative for the Lethbridge constituency.

Although it may not have been the results she wanted for her friend and former Prime Minister Stephen Harper, she was happy to get elected and to represent this community in Ottawa.

According to Harder she always believed in herself and believed that she was the best option for Lethbridge and her message remains the same.

“To make sure that I represent them to the best of my ability in Ottawa, I believe it comes to advocacy and regardless to the government in power, it doesn’t change that commitment, I will remain the same,” said Harder.

Her victory speech was met with a lot of clapping and a lot of cheering as she gave thanks to the many people who helped out during the campaign.

“I’m incredibly blessed with the men and women and children who surrounded me in the endeavour who helped me receive this victory tonight,” said Harder.

When asked what she will do next, she replied, “My first priority is the people of this riding, to sit down with them to understand their concerns and know the best move going forward.”
