Where do we go from here?

headercolumnjpgWhat has the internet done to us?

We are living in a world where a six second video can get millions of global views or choose your next world leader. The US election has showed that it doesn’t matter what you say, the amount of money and a list of lies can put you in the highest office.

Donald Trump has just been elected the 45th president of the United States of America with no political experience. It makes me furious that our neighbours gave him support to put him in a position that will affect the entire world.

The outlandish comments Trump has made are disgusting to hear and it didn’t lead to a lesser following.

His whole idea of building a wall to keep Mexicans out of the US is too reminiscent of terrible moments in our history that we vowed not to repeat. The stance that being he is a celebrity he can touch and insult women any time he wants with no repercussion.

What is shocking to me in that situation is that Billy Bush was fired, but Trump becomes president. That doesn’t make any sense. Bush was let go this year after the original conversation took place back in 2005, yet there was no punishment handed to Trump for the comments and now sets a terrible example for our children.

What doesn’t upset me is that the people of America want change. Middle class families had felt they have lost their voice when it came to important decisions that impacted the landscape of the country.

Trump is not the person that will help fix that. He has shown already that he has an agenda that only helps a certain group of people and we have no idea if he will stay true to his promises.

The part that scares me is the amount of fear he has planted in the diverse community of the United States. Not only are people afraid to immigrate there, but those who have settled don’t feel like it is the land of the free.

We must educate ourselves to make sure we have done our homework and put the most capable people in power. Not someone who wants to instill fear.

You should know your facts before you bash someone in a column. Trump is building that wall ONLY to keep ILLEGAL Mexican’s from coming in to the country. That isn’t keeping EVERY Mexican out of the USA, just the illegal one’s. He wants Mexican people to come into the country the proper way, just as how you and I would do so. So before you go running your mouth and bashing people in a column, you should learn your facts, then do so.
